The websites of AVG and WhatsApp have both been the target of the pro-Palestinian group KDMS, who have replaced the home pages of the popular sites with a message of protest in what is known as a defacement using a DNS redirect.
Currently, the home page of the popular anti-virus and Internet security software AVG, is still showing the message after it was attacked approximately 2hrs ago now according to KDMS’s Twitter feed. All other pages on the AVG site are unreachable at the moment.
#Avg WebSite Down! Hacked :xD
— Kdms Team (@KdmsTeam) October 8, 2013
The WhatsApp home page which was attacked at around the same time as the AVG site, is currently back up and running and had no effect on the messaging system for the hugely popular messaging service that sends billions of messages a day.
The message left by the hackers reads:
We Are Here To Deliver Tow Messages
we want to tell you that there is a land called Palestine on the earth
this land has been stolen by Zionist
do you know it ?
Palestinian people has the right to live in peace
Deserve to liberate their land and release all prisoners from israeli jails
we want peace
long live Palestine
There Is No Full Security
We Can Catch You !
Below is a screenshot of the digital protest message left by the KDMS group on the AVG site. KDMS’s defacement message is protesting about the amount of land that has been taken away from Palestine by Israel since 1946.
