The marketing hype for the upcoming remake of the classic 1976 horror Carrie, has just been kicked up a notch in a very clever, yet chilling video.
In the video from the marketing team behind the film, customers at a small coffee shop in New York get to witness what seems to be a young woman having a supernatural freak out after her coffee is spilt over her by another customer. The resulting reaction from her are great and you can tell that some of the people in the coffee shop were pretty scared. Great stuff, and clever marketing indeed.
A re-imagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King.
Carrie open in theaters on 17th October, starting in the Czech Republic. Cinema goers in the US can catch it on the 18th October, but unfortunately people in the UK will have to wait until the 29th November. For the full release date schedule for Carrie, see this link.
When will Hollywood get it through their thick skulls that drip release dates piss people off.
The film does look pretty cool, and if it is half as good and as chilling as the original that starred Sissy Spacek in the leading role, then it is bound to do well.
