If you have multiple videos that you would like VLC to play back-to-back without having to physically select the next video to play, then this article is for you. This will also work the same if you would like to play all the songs/audio/album you have in a folder including any sub-folders.
For example, I have 24 videos that I would like to watch in sequence, but don’t want to have to move to start playing the next one in order. I am also using Windows 7 and VLC version 2.1.5 Rincewind, which is currently the latest stable version.
As you can see from the screen shot above, I have previously backed up my Game of Thrones Season 1 bluray and ripped the Extras which resulted in 42 separate video files that I would like to play on my computer. To get these to play in the order that you would like them to play, firstly make sure that your order is the way you want it (in my case I ordered then alphabetically) and then go Media>Open Folder
Browse to where the folder is that contains your video files and click on Select Folder
VLC will now start to play the first video file in the specified folder and once that one has finished will automatically start to play the next video without you having to do anything.
Hope that helped.
