With the arrival of Google’s Nexus 5 running the latest version of Android OS, KitKat 4.4, comes another pretty cool Easter Egg hidden away within the phones settings, following in the traditions of Ice-Cream Sandwich and Jelly-Bean.
Getting to the Easter Egg is pretty simple, so here’s how:
Head to your Settings and scroll down to About Phone.
Select About Phone, and then scroll down to Android Version.
Triple tap this in quick succession to see the first animated screen. Here you can just spin the letter K
Now long hold on the first screen to proceed to the second one, which is just the KitKat 4.4. logo.
Again, long hold the KitKat 4.4 screen, to get to the main animation. There you will find icons showing the previous versions of Android (Ice-cream sandwich, Jelly-Bean etc) in different sized boxes. Now just start playing around.
It’s nothing mind blowing, but it is a neat little addition. To get rid of the animation, simply swipe down from the top of the screen to show the navigation icons and go back to the home screen.
