Here is a quick tip on how to avoid seeing any spoilers that may appear on your Twitter feed for Game of Thrones season 4. Please note that this works for any spoilers that you wish to avoid seeing, or other subjects. (Eg. Justin Bieber)
Some of the search terms you may want to add are:
#GameOfThrones, #GoT, #Lannister, #Dragons, @GameofThrones, Game of Thrones, GoT,
First let’s look at Google Chrome users
Download the Open Tweet Filter for Chrome and install it.
Once you have done that, go to your Twitter account and click on the Settings icon and then choose Filters. (Top right hand corner)
A small filter window will now appear. Simply add any spoiler text that you would like to avoid seeing separated by a comma, in your Twitter feed and then close out the Filter window by clicking on the X at the top right hand corner.
Now you if do a search for any of those search terms, they will not appear in your Twitter feed, so you won’t see any spoilers. You can also add the @xxxx as well to stop seeing tweets from certain people, or retweeted by others.
Now let’s do this in Firefox
Firstly, download the Larry Filter for Twitter for Firefox and install it. You will have to restart Firefox after installing this.
Once Firefox has restarted, go to the Options section
Now select Options again next to Larry filter for Firefox
This will open a small window where you can add any spoiler text or Hash-tags that you wish to avoid seeing in your Twitter feed
Once you are finished adding them, simply click on Close Window
So now you will be able to carry on using Twitter as normal without worrying about reading any spoilers from people who have either watched the latest episode or have read the books.
